| Description:
This variety of white grape is primarily grown in Galicia(also pronounced as Galiza), located in Northwest Spain. Another popular region to grow the particular grape are the hillsides of Northwest Portugal, specifically the Monção region. Though no one knows for sure when these regions started growing this variety, it's presumed that it was brought to both Spain and Portugal during the 14th century by French monks in search of new land to settle and new hearts to win over to their gospel. No matter where or when this wonderful fruit started blossoming, there's no doubt that the Albariño variety produces a wonderful White Wine that challenges many of the Riesling wines from the very best growers in Germany, whom have been producing sweet white wine professionally for the same amount of time. Taste notes: This grape produces flavors and aromas similar to that of an apricot and or possibly a peach. |
