| Description:
The Clairette Blanche white grape variety hails from the regions of Provence, Rhône and Languedoc in France, known mainly for their growth of wine grapes. It produces wine low in acidity, yet high in alcohol and is rather suitable for the creation of Vermouth. Also known as, simply Clairette, the grape creates a wine that is white in color and mild in flavor, yet with a high alcohol content. Though the Clairette Blanche white grape's volume is widely decreasing though out the French regions, it is still commonly used in many wine blends, as it's neutrality allows it to act as a filling component and work well with other grape varieties. South Africa is another cultivator of the Clairette Blanche white grape variety for sparkling wines, although the regions of France possess the most commonly recognized vineyards, turning out the highest volume of wines that utilize this versatile white grape. |
