| Description:
The Fiano White Grape is one of the most popular white grapes that are found in Italy. It is native to the Avellino area of Southern Italy and is used to make the vastly popular Fiano di Avellino wine that is prevelent in this part of Italy. The Fiano White Grape has become very popular in Australia with that country's warm climate, which during some seasons has caused the grape to ripen up to three weeks early. The taste of Fiano White Grape wines are described as nutty, herbal, aromatic, with smoky spicy notes and hazelnuts. With the Fiano White Grape being native to Italy it is highly favored with seafood, pastas, and other highly favorable Italian cuisines. It seems though that the Australians have become huge fans of the Fiano White Grape as in 2008 at the Australian Alternative Varities Wine Show it was recognized as one of four best new white grape varities. |
