| Description:
Tinta Negra Mole Red Grape is considered a good red grape for wine blends because it can imitate the flavors of other varieties of grapes. A cross between Pinot Noir and Grenache varieties, Tinta Negra Mole is used extensively in the making of Madeira. On its own, the Tinta Negra Mole is very sweet and resembles the taste and smell of red currants. Its vine is hardy with durable wood and standard-sized leaves; the berries are small to medium-sized and grow in dense bunches. Not only do Tinta Negra Mole Red Grapes produce excellent wines but are tasty table grapes. The Tinta Negra Mole is grown largely on the Portuguese Island of Maderia on the southern coast around Funchal and Camara de Lobos, and also in the northern area around Sao Vicente. However, it has also been planted on the Portuguese mainland on the southern Algrave Coast and around Carcavelos. |
